Unit 500, Solar Park , Shirley

Following a competitive tendering process, GLJ were instructed to undertake the full dilapidation and refurbishment of Unit 500 Solar Park. The works comprised of roofing cleaning, cut-edge corrosion works and repairs to siphonic gutter systems. Externally a second entrance was removed and re-clad, damaged sheeting was replaced before all elevations were re-sprayed to rejuvenate the property. Shutter doors and dock-levellers were overhauled and external hard-standings repaired and cleaned before road markings were renewed. Internally the previous tenants fit-out was fully removed, this included strip out of racking and mezzanine floors, heavy demolition and soft strip through the office and communal areas. The internal refurbishment included new electric power and lighting throughout, new design and install of HVAC systems, reconfiguration of main entrance reception and new IPS and sanitary wares. New suspended ceilings were installed and floor coverings were renewed to the clients specification and decorated throughout.

GLJ delivered the project on programme and within budget. All parties were extremely pleased with the finished product and the unit was Let to a new tenant on completion.
